The executive order directs cabinet agencies to safeguard medical privacy, ensures women receive accurate information about their pregnancies, and protects doctors providing lawful reproductive health care.

Attorney General Jeff Jackson Files $5.5 Million Medicaid Fraud Lawsuit

RALEIGH – Attorney General Jeff Jackson and United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina Dena King filed a federal lawsuit against Benson I. Ejindu for allegedly submitting false claims to the North Carolina Medicaid program. Attorney General Jackson and U.S. Attorney King are seeking more than $5.5 million in damages plus substantial additional civil penalties.

Dr. Devdutta “Dev” Sangvai was sworn in as the new Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025. Dr. Sangvai was selected by Governor Josh Stein to lead the department as the state’s 19th Secretary for Health and Human Services. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Dorothea Dix Park where the department is currently headquartered.
