Durham, NC – Today, Anita Earls, Senior Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, announced that her reelection campaign raised over $550,000 since launching earlier this year – more than any judicial campaign has raised at this point in the cycle in North Carolina history. Over 80% of the contributions were from North Carolina, spanning across the entire state, making it clear that North Carolinians support Justice Earls’ vision of a court that works for all North Carolinians.
Mary Alice Blackstock, Earls’ campaign manager, released the following statement regarding the campaign’s fundraising:
“Our team is proud of the record-breaking work we are doing on this campaign. Justice Earls is running this race in every corner of the state, and our fundraising is further proof of that,” said Blackstock. “North Carolinians know how important this election is and what’s at stake. The outpouring of support for Justice Earls’ reelection campaign demonstrates that voters want a court that works for the people – not extreme partisan interests – and a court that will protect the rights and freedoms of all North Carolinians.”
Justice Anita Earls is the Senior Associate Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court. Prior to taking office in 2019, she spent over 30 years as a civil rights attorney, specializing in voting rights, school desegregation, and employment discrimination matters. Throughout her career, she has championed government transparency, held large corporations accountable, fought for fair elections, and advocated for those who have been harmed. She lives in Durham with her husband, and she has two sons and three grandchildren.
