Blake Boykin to Run for North Carolina House Pledges to Lead on Education, Job Creation
Blake Boykin, businessman, and the Chairman of the Wilson County Board of Education, announced today that he will run for North Carolina House in the November 3, 2026 election. Boykin, a Republican, will challenge the Democratic State Representative for the 24th House District seat, which includes all of Wilson County and part of Nash County.
Speaking to the values guiding his campaign, Boykin shared: “My priority is to build on the experience I gained serving on the Wilson County Board of Education. This role has given me a deep understanding of how our public schools operate—and what changes are needed to help them better serve students, families, and teachers. Combined with over a decade of business experience, I bring a well-rounded perspective and proven leadership that will be essential in state-level negotiations—especially in driving economic development, creating jobs, and tackling housing affordability.”
“I will work with the House Republican majority to deliver for the people of Wilson and Nash counties,” Boykin concluded.
Boykin, 38, graduated from James B. Hunt High School and is also a Wilson Economic Development Leadership graduate. He is a licensed North Carolina General Contractor and Electrical Contractor. He is also the owner and operator of B&B Home Builders, LLC, providing home building services to the people of eastern North Carolina for more than a decade. Boykin comes from a long line of Wilson County farmers, with his family’s agricultural roots stretching back more than 260 years in our community.
In addition to serving on the Wilson County Board of Education, Boykin serves on the Wilson Education Partnership Board. He has previously served on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Wilson and the Imagination Station. He is also a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, reflecting his ongoing commitment to conservation and community service.
Boykin has been married to his wife, Brittany, for 15 years, and they have three children, all of whom currently attend Wilson County Public Schools. The Boykins are active members of Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Wilson
